Corrections

We get things wrong. When we do, we fix it in public and say what changed.

The policy

  • Errors of fact are corrected, not deleted. We change the article and log it here with what it used to say. We do not quietly edit a claim out of existence.
  • Material corrections are noted in the article itself, so a reader who lands on the page sees it without visiting this one.
  • Typos and formatting are not corrections. We fix them silently. Anything that changes the meaning, the numbers, or a reader's conclusion is logged.
  • Updates are not corrections either. When a story moves on and we add new facts, the article carries a last-updated date. Only things that were wrong when published appear below.
  • This log is permanent. Entries are never removed.

Reporting an error

Email support@thedesperatetrader.com with the article and what you believe is wrong. If you can point to a filing or a data source, it will be resolved much faster. Anyone named in a piece may request a right of reply at the same address. Substantiated factual objections are corrected promptly.

PYXS: why Pyxis Oncology crashed with no news

What we said
The headline and URL said the stock dropped 34%. The piece also said it traded 3 times normal volume and closed around $2.50.
What is correct
The 34% figure matches no measure of the day: close to close was -26.1%, prior close to the intraday low was -50.4%, and pre-halt to reopen was -32.9%. The headline now says 50%, measured from the $3.83 prior close to the $1.90 low, which is what the article's own opening sentence already said. Volume was 12.2 times the 995,823-share average, not 3 times, and the close was $2.83, not $2.50. The old URL permanently redirects to the corrected one.
How it was caught
Found while adding charts to the piece, when every figure was re-derived from our own bars. A wrong number in a permanent URL is worse than an ugly one.
Correction

Netflix didn't miss. It made a new 52-week low anyway.

What we said
Three price figures were wrong. We said the stock fell 10.5% on the day, that it opened 15% lower, and that it closed at $68.84.
What is correct
Recomputed from our own daily bars against the prior close of $74.35: the stock fell 7.3% on the day, opened 11.9% lower at $65.48, and closed at $68.95. It was down 12.5% at the intraday low of $65.08 and recovered about 42% of that drop before the bell, not a third. The direction and the argument were unaffected; the magnitudes were overstated.
How it was caught
Found while adding charts and sources to the piece, when every number in it was re-derived from the tape rather than trusted.

FRGT: why Freight Technologies spiked then crashed

What we said
The piece said the convertible preferred was worth about 3.05 million shares, and described that as "more shares than the entire company has". It also said more than seven times the company changed hands, and that no public share count existed after December 31, 2025.
What is correct
The company's own FY2025 risk factor discloses preferred and warrants convertible into up to 32,689,825 additional ordinary shares, roughly ten times what we published. The 20-F also states 2,860,626 shares outstanding as of April 20, 2026, so a newer share count did exist, and turnover on the day was about 4.2 times the company, not seven. Related figures derived from the old share count were corrected at the same time, including the CEO's reported holding.
How it was caught
Found while re-reading the filings to answer a reader question about the convertible holders. The error came from modelling one tranche of preferred instead of quoting the issuer's own total, and from asserting a figure was unavailable without checking.

PYXS: why Pyxis Oncology crashed with no news

What we said
One reference linked to a Pyxis Oncology investor-relations page that is unreachable.
What is correct
Replaced with the company's permanent SEC EDGAR filing index, which cannot go stale.
How it was caught
Caught by an automated audit that now checks every external reference on every published article resolves.
