Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about comparing stocks on TheDesperateTrader.
- How do I compare two stocks?
- Type a ticker into the “Add ticker” box to add a column, and use the × to remove one. Compare up to four stocks side by side across price, day % change, market cap, RVOL, 52-week range and sector.
- What does RVOL mean when comparing stocks?
- Relative volume (RVOL) compares each stock’s volume to its own 30-day average. A higher RVOL means the stock is trading more actively than usual — useful for spotting which of two names is “in play” today.
- Is the comparison data real-time?
- Prices and % changes are anchored to the latest completed trading session and split-adjusted, so a reverse split never shows as a fake move. Add any ticker to your watchlist right from the comparison.
